📖 About This Tool

Calculating the number of days between two dates sounds simple until you try it by hand. Months vary from 28 to 31 days, leap years add an extra day every four years (with further exceptions for century years), and the Gregorian calendar we use today was only introduced in 1582 and adopted at different times in different countries. This tool handles all of that automatically, including the edge cases that trip up manual counting.

Beyond raw day counts, the tool breaks the gap into weeks, months, and years for context - because 365 days tells you less than '1 year and 0 months', and 1,825 days is easier to grasp as 'roughly 5 years'. It also identifies the day of the week for any target date, which is useful for scheduling and planning.
