๐Ÿ“– About This Tool

Calculating age accurately is trickier than subtracting birth year from current year. A proper calculation must account for whether your birthday has already passed this year, handle months of different lengths, and deal with leap years correctly. Someone born on 31 March is not one year older on 28 February of a non-leap year - they reach their birthday on 1 March. This tool handles all of those edge cases.

Age is also culturally relative. In the traditional Korean age-counting system, a person is considered one year old at birth and gains a year on New Year's Day rather than on their birthday, meaning a Korean age can be one or two years higher than the international age. Most countries have moved to the international system, but the cultural difference persists in informal contexts.
